OFSTED Monitoring Visit February 2018
I have just been notified that OFSTED will be conducting a monitoring visit this Wednesday and Thursday (7th and 8th February 2018). The purpose of the visit is to check the progress the school has made since their monitoring visit in October 2017.
My team and I have been working tirelessly since our full OFSTED inspection and are welcoming the opportunity to demonstrate how far we have come since October.
We have a lot to be proud of so far, including positive results of the external examinations at both GCSE and A2 level; the high proportion of students securing quality university places; the increase of STEM interactions and positive visits from various quality assurance teams.
As stakeholders in our UTC it is vital that we have a measure of what our parents think and this is recorded in ‘Parentview’. You can access it via this link https://parentview.ofsted.gov.uk/parent-view-results/survey/result/132001/7 or through our website under the ‘Parent’ tab.
At all of our parental engagement sessions we have asked you to compete similar forms for our own records and have been pleased with the positive feedback you have left us. This is the kind of evidence the inspector will need to see in order to give us a fair judgement.
After the inspection it will take a number of weeks for the report to be written and as soon as I am allowed to share this with you, I will.
Like me, I’m sure you will welcome this visit as an opportunity to turn the previous report around. Together we can achieve this.
I have shared the following quote at all parental engagement sessions and with the students in any assembly that I conduct; “Be the change you want to see in the world.” Ghandi. I feel this exemplifies what together we are trying to achieve at UTC Bolton.
Thank you for your continued support.
